Joanna Marriot, a driver with a security element, recently deployed to Southwest Asia from the 175th Security Forces Squadron, Maryland Air National Guard. Marriot, a native of Deming, Wash., along with other Air National Guard Security Forces Squadron members deployed as a group to join a team made up of security forces squadron members from the 49th Security Forces Squadron out of Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. The personnel form an expeditionary security element assigned to provide security for airmen performing missions off U.S. military installations. "I like this deployment because it's such a unique mission," said Marriot. "This isn't a normal deployment for most security forces Airmen and I'm excited I got a chance to get out here to do this."
