General Blum visits Manas
MANAS AIR BASE, KYRYZ REPUBLIC--National Guard Bureau Chief, Lt. Gen. H. Steven Blum, poses for a photo with Tech. Sgt. Patrick Narango, a chaplain's assistant deployed here from the Maryland Air National Guard out of Warfield ANG Base, Md. During the general's visit here, he met and enjoyed lunch with Guardsmen, toured the base, and met with senior leadership to provide a strategic perspective on how best to use the Guard in a deployed setting like Manas. More than 300 Air National Guardsmen are deployed to the base, which serves at the premier air mobility hub supporting military operations in Afghanistan.
